Gene & Julie
Mornings  5:00 - 10:00 am

Morning Show Hosts Gene & Julie not only go to work with each other, they go home together, too. They're married!

Ever wonder what it's like to work with your spouse? Morning show hosts Gene & Julie are married to each other in real life and are crazy enough to share the details of their relationship on the air.  If their names sound familiar, you might remember Gene & Julie from when they worked on the former B97.9 FM.

Since then, the biggest change in their life is parenthood. After several miscarriages, Gene & Julie finally gave birth to their daughter Sophia in December of 2004.  Naturally, everyone wants to know, "How do Gene & Julie spend all that time together without driving each other crazy?" We can answer that question with one word: THERAPY! Here's a little more about these nuts: Gene is a neat freak. He compulsively straightens grocery store shelves. He just can't help it. He's also a food snob and carries his own salt with him everywhere he goes (check for yourself... it's always in his man-purse!). Gene was raised in a small town of 356 people where he was a volunteer firefighter and mowed Mrs.Townsend's lawn every week. He's a Type-A, driven person... he graduated early from high school and was valedictorian at his broadcasting school. He even got all his Webelo badges. Gene jokes he's easy to get along with, as long as he gets his way. Julie was voted "Happiest Girl" in her high school senior class. Although she fancies herself as being highly organized, Julie is a complete slob. She grew-up in the suburbs and attended a private university. She was even president of her sorority and a college cheerleader. You can't really hate her because she's so darn nice... plus, you gotta give her some slack for putting-up with Gene on a daily basis. She loves her role as a mom and is trying to figure out how to juggle the daily responsibilities of being a working parent. Gene & Julie met in their hometown of Seattle while pursuing individual radio careers. Once they met it was love-at-first-sight and they decided to become a team. Their radio adventures have taken them all over America ranging from North Texas to Albuquerque, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Atlanta. They have been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, Nightline with Ted Koppel and in the New York Times. Gene & Julie were awarded the "Best Morning Show" trophy at the Achievement in Radio Awards and they have received two Wishmaker Awards from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas.
